On Monday, ‘Frizzbomb’ was finally officially released. We’ve been getting some great support on this including from Armin Van Buuren on his A State Of Trance radio show, on Paul Van Dyk’s Soundgarden, Eddie Halliwell, Sander Van Doorn, amongst a whole host of DJs who are all throwing their support fully behind it.

A full support list can be found here – Goodgreef Digital MySpace blog

The track is now available on Beatport exclusively until 3rd December when it will then also be available on other download portals as well.

A YouTube clip of Eddie Halliwell’s recent tribute to Barry at the Parklife Festival

On Thursday 24th April 2008, Barry tragically passed away due to a rare strain of acute meningitis, he was just 27.

Barry had just fulfilled one of his dream’s of performing on BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix, and had not long been in the studio producing his debut track. Sadly Barry will never see his debut track released and gain the support of his peers, but along with the wishes of his family and fiancee, the track will be getting released on Goodgreef’s new digital label, Goodgreef Digital.

With various projects being worked on between us and no real ‘label manager’ in place since the original Goodgreef Recordings label, as a close friend of Barry’s, I wanted to be fully involved with this release so will be helping the guys at Goodgreef with the promo and release of the track on their label.

The release is scheduled for November 3rd exclusively on Beatport, just over a week after what would have been Barry’s 28th birthday. It will then be on other download portals 4 weeks later. Everyone involved in the release are close friends and peers of Barry’s so I think the release will be something special and would really have made Barry proud.

All remixes are now complete and come from his friends; Judge Jules who Barry performed on the Radio 1 Essential Mix with @ his residency Inside Out in his hometown of Glasgow, John O’Callaghan, Paul Webster, and Bryan Kearney.

A Judge Jules ‘remix’ is a bit of a rarity these days, and before we could even really get the release underway he came to us and requested the parts so he could work on a remix of his own. John, Paul, Bryan, and David of course didn’t need any persuading…
Clips of the remixes can be heard @ the Goodgreef Digital MySpace

The release is to be completely non-profit, with all proceeds being raised for Barry’s family and their support of Meningitis UK. So please encourage your friends to go and purchase this track via the legal download outlets when it comes out.

Well after some thinking about this, I came to the conclusion that I may be interesting enough to write some sort of blog that people will read. If not, then I guess this won’t last long!

I’m working on some interesting projects at the moment, some my own, some with other people, but mostly related to music so it’s probably a good time to kick start this blog and get something put up here that people interested in music and clubs will appreciate. Not sure how frequent the blogs are going to be, but I’ll get on here when I can and try and post some bits and bobs.

Let’s see how this goes!
